IBM iSeries Interior Upgrade Hardware Withdrawal June 1st, 2006
On June 1, 2006, IBM will withdraw the interior upgrade paths to the 800, 810, 825, 870 and 890 servers. IBM Announcement 305-164. Effective January 1st, 2006, IBM will increase the cost of upgrades from these models to the eServer i5. Customers can save roughly 5-15% on feature conversions to Power 5 models if they move before January 2006.
